Maternal Health Awareness Day

Maternal Health Awareness Day is a powerful reminder that every mother deserves safe, respectful, and high-quality care before, during, and after pregnancy. By raising awareness, we can help ensure healthier futures for mothers, babies, and families everywhere.

A healthy mother means a healthy family and a stronger community. From prenatal checkups to postpartum well-being, every pregnancy is a journey that deserves care, respect, and support.

At Virginia Women and Family Support Center, we are committed to empowering mothers and families by providing education, resources, and compassionate support throughout every stage of motherhood. We believe no mother should feel alone on her journey.

Why Maternal Health Awareness Matters

  • Over 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable

  • 1 in 8 women experience symptoms of postpartum depression

  • 72% of low-income mothers with infants are rated as having low maternal health literacy
