Meet Maggie, proof that one small act of kindness can change lives

Meet Maggie.
Meet Maggie.

As part of her American Heritage Girls kids donation project, Maggie came up with a thoughtful idea - a snack table fundraiser at a play. She baked, set up, and sold out completely. But instead of keeping the earnings, Maggie chose to donate every single dollar to the Virginia Women and Family Support Center.

She raised a few hundred dollars, and it’s already helping us open doors for more women and children who have nowhere else to call home. Her donation supports housing, warm meals, baby supplies, and vital support services for families who are rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness.

When Maggie shared how much she raised, she was beaming with joy. Her pride was contagious, and her kindness reminded us all that the size of the gift doesn’t matter nearly as much as the love behind it. Her action sparked hope and showed just how powerful compassion can be.

Thanks to Maggie, another mother and child will have a safe place to sleep tonight. And thanks to her family, who has supported our mission over the years, that spirit of giving continues to grow.

We are deeply grateful to Maggie and her family for standing with us and reminding us what community really means.
