VAWFSC Concludes 2026 Summer Internship Program

VAWFSC concluded its eight-week Summer Internship Program. This year, we welcomed 20 interns who spent the summer working alongside teams across the organization, including Digital Marketing and Brand Development, Maternal Health, Business Management, and Case Management.

Throughout the program, interns gained hands-on experience, developed professional skills, explored potential career paths, tackled real-world challenges, and contributed to work that supports women and children in our community.

Digital Marketing and Brand Development

Digital Marketing and Brand Development interns used their creativity and passion for marketing to develop engaging content for VAWFSC’s marketing efforts. Their work included creating social media content, editing videos, conducting community outreach, and assisting with event marketing and promotion.

Maternal Health

Maternal Health interns supported a variety of projects focused on raising awareness and advancing maternal health. Their work included conducting community outreach, sending invitations to elected officials, writing articles on maternal health issues, brainstorming fundraising events, and conducting research.

Business Management

The Business Management intern supported our mission through donor outreach, document organization, and filing.

Case Management

Case Management interns supported check-ins at our residential house, tracked residents’ needs, wrote research articles comparing different types of temporary housing with VAWFSC’s approach, and developed questions for a room series campaign.

Reflecting on Their Experience

As part of the program, interns also prepared an end-of-summer presentation reflecting on what they learned, the projects they worked on, and the skills they developed throughout their internships.
