Since 2016, the Virginia Women and Family Support Center has provided housing and resources to women and children facing homelessness. Over the years, we have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that stable housing has on maternal health and the difference it can make in creating a pathway toward independence.
As we reflect on the past decade, countless stories remind us of the resilience, strength, and hope of the women we serve. Women who could not believe a place like ours truly existed.

Just three months after opening the doors to our Haymarket house, we welcomed the second mother into our residential program. Before arriving, she was living in her car during her second trimester of pregnancy, facing uncertainty about her future and the well-being of her baby.
Through our program, she gained access to stable housing, trauma-informed prenatal care, mental health counseling, and birth planning support, helping her carry her baby to full term with confidence. A few months later, she gave birth to the very first baby in our program.
As we celebrate 10 years of providing housing and support to women and children in need, stories like this remind us of the lives that have been transformed and the meaningful memories we have created along the way.
Because of your generosity, that first baby was able to grow up in a safe and loving environment. Today, that child is 9-years old.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us provide women and children with the compassion, stability, and support they need to thrive and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Help Us Keep Our Doors Open
For 10 years, we have provided safe housing and support to mothers, children, and newborns, helping families build stable and brighter futures. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to continue this life-changing work. Every gift helps keep families safe, supported, and moving toward stability.
